Vince Giordano and his group, the Nighthawks Orchestra, have made a serious name for themselves for their authentic revival of 1930s sweet bands and swing sounds, and this CD is about as good a showcase as one could wish for of the sound. From the jaunty, rousing opener of "Let Yourself Go" to the closer of "Let's Call the Whole Thing Off," listeners get a cross section of the best songs associated with Fred Astaire's 1930s movies, in state-of-the-art sound and strong performances. - Bruce Eder
